Sept 14-Rubaiyat, Persian aaba. Long poems interlock , stanzas run aaba bbcb ccdc, etc. until last, zzaz, where 3rd line rhymes with 1st line of poem. 8 or 10 syllables. Title:Choose
Most lead hard lives against the fall of night
Each breath one takes is like a fierce some fightBecause they doubt they must defend their stand
And darken their eyes against the light.
They know their castles will crumble like sand
Their hope is making their own life their brandThe immortality they crave won’t last
For they choose to not follow the right band.
Instead of a small pool, choose one that’s vast
Repent this foolishness, turn from your pastTrue immortality is now in sight
Choose quickly, for the end comes very fast.
