Day 101:

Oct 9-Petrarchan Sonnet, - abba abba then cdc dcd or cdc cde. By Petrarch, perfected love originally from Giacomo Lentini.
Other versions:cddcdd, cddece, cddcdd, cddede.
A love sonnet, Italian, you see
From Giacomo Lentini, you know
The inspiration love bequests to show
Petrarchan Sonnets model perfectly.

But Petrarch added more to make it free
The octave abba then does grow
Another abba to then sew
Your poem into something  shown with glee.

The octave followed by sestet reply
Add cdccde if you may
Or cdcdcd to say bye.
But if you choose another sestet, why
It’s fine to do. It’s flexible ,that’s why,
And now you know the Petrarchan Sonnet.
