Day 103:

Oct 11-Curtal Sonnet, abcabcdbcdc or abcabcdcbdc, by George Manley Hopkins. Most have last line as 6 or less syllables, usually 2.

The poet  Gerald Manley Hopkins writ
The Curtal Sonnet making it brand new
For others to follow the pattern now.
It’s abcabc, first to fit
Then dbcdc, so here’s your cue
Make sure the last line only half, and how?
Just six or less syllables work the line.
For some, it must be finally but two.
To ease the conscience of the critics, I’ll bow.
I’ll close this sonnet just their way. That’s fine.
Kapow!
