Day 95:

Oct 3-Haiku-Sonnet, Haiku lines(5-7-5) rhyme according to the sonnet form. Abab cdcd efef gg. Title: This side of heaven.

This side of heaven. What is it about living? What meaning is life?
Is there a purpose? Philosophers argue this. Posturing? Useless.
Life is a battle. Satan’s minions are at war. Everything is strife.
Sickness and disease. Disasters are abundant. Satan is ruthless.

Is the Lord to blame? The final battle is won. Eternal glory.
A chance for us all. Worthy of the  courageous. The reward is peace.
Soldiers of the cross. Willing to defend the Lord. Part of the story.
Eternity calls. Resurrection of the dead. When all tears do cease.

Our purpose is clear. Faithful until death calls us. True soldier to fight.
So what else is there? Do we struggle for power? What about money?
It’s dust in the wind. Temporals that fade away. Heaven’s in our sight.
A place of pure joy. A land flowing with good things. Like milk and honey.

We’re not made for here. We’re made for eternity. Forget what has past.
This side of heaven. Briefly passing this old life. To one that will last.
